i came on jwd a year ago tomorrow, having realized that jws were not the truth, quite painfully, on march 29, 2008. i was here within a week, and within 2 months i was officially dad by my congregation.. ever since joining, i have never actually wrote down a comprehensive look at why i left the organization.

I am now re-married to an ExJW.
Of course, I don't have kids, so the decision was easier. There are plenty of people who ahve kids, and who have helped their spouses out too. Try looking at poster "Robert7" for example, his wife is "NewLight4U".

I really identified with the feeling that you could parrot the arguments for various beliefs, but had to shove your questions to the back and "wait on Jehovah" for clarification. I had never really thought about this in those terms before.
the courage to acknowledge what many JWs suspect/know in their hearts but are too afraid to admit.
I think that many JWs do this without realizing, and think that they need to wait or trust in Jehovah. Eventually it becomes overwhelming... it's called cognitive dissonance, and we all suffered from it to one degree or another...
hi rick and inez.... i was just curious if you guys and the gang ever thought about peacefully and quietly attending the memorial, (with the intent of partaking)...you have a pretty sizeable group.
would the elders ask you all to leave and call the police if you did not leave?
bear in mind there could be visitors so this could be sticky and undesireable to have to call in the police.. thoughts?.
I think that's a great idea isaac... they could go in, participate in the memorial, and then go out with the signs afterward, LOL...

Thanks for your replies. I'm glad that many feel that they have had similar experiences as they gradually left the borg.
For me, it took perhaps 25 years, from the time as a child I started questioning things that seemed off, til the time that I stopped believing alltogether last year. So there is hope "for thinking Christians".
As jwfacts said, this could be palatable to some JWs still in. I did send a copy to my JW brother, but of course, got no response. You never know what people may read though.
I think that many JWs, when they feel doubts, just say, "That's really deep", think that they just don't understand it, and continute living the lives that are prescribed for them by the GB.

sorry, i just have to vent my frustration again over the fact that my fleshly, still a jw sister, treats me as if i'm dead, since i was df'ed.. i can't get over it.
i'm still writing her regularly.

not only did the public watchtower issue attempt to screw with educate those who believe in being born again, but their preach to teach your children article (pg 24-25) also reinforced the idea of keeping away from those who aren't jws worship false gods.
reminds me of their recent meanderings in their april study edition, only this one has been dubbed down simplified to brain wash teach the children.
a small box on the bottom of pg 29 relates the catholic observence of lent to pagan practices.. i'm not any good at a blondie type rehash, but this issue makes me wish i was.. for those who are interested in the parts of this issue that were not already posted and do not have a copy of their own, i scanned the issue in its entirety and put in a searchable pdf format.. http://www.sendspace.com/file/0amdvy.

every body has a thread about r u attending the memorial or whats gon happen who's gon partake...what i want to know whats the best memorial that you missed or skipped?.
for me it was the first memorial i missed.
i stopped going to the hal in 04 but, got conned into going to the memorial in 05. in 06 i wasn't having any of it.
THis week will be the first for me.
